  • This project is near completion. Construction crews will be removing equipment from the area with little to no traffic impacts. 
Traffic Impacts

Over the course of the season, be alert to flagging operations and DELAYS. Drivers should expect loose gravel on the road and use caution on the DETOUR route. Be alert to a 30 MPH speed limit. 

Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Hamilton Construction Alaska Co., is working to replace the existing Slana River Bridge located at MP 75.6 of the Tok Cutoff. Upon completion, profile grades will be raised to accommodate the new bridge structure, and 0.5 miles of roadway and one existing pullout will be replaced. This project is expected to be complete in September 2017.

  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
  • Watch for reduced speed limits
  • Be alert to and follow directions of flaggers
  • Drive with headlights on
  • Allow additional time when traveling
  • Watch for equipment and workers
