What You Need to Know
  • Crews are working on highway data equipment installation at Spear Road and Zimovia Highway in Wrangell, from 7:00am to 6:00pm daily.
  • Drivers should be aware of workers and equipment in or near the road and use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Ever Electric Inc., is working to install highway detection equipment in Wrangell, at Spear Road and Zimovia Highway. This project is expected to be complete in September 2019.

Safety in all construction zones:

  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
  • Watch for reduced speed limits
  • Be alert to and follow directions of flaggers
  • Drive with headlights on
  • Allow additional time when traveling
