What You Need to Know
  • The week of August 21 will include removing and replacing mailboxes, removing and replacing signs, and shaping of driveway approaches in preparation for paving.
  • Please be alert to LANE RESTRICTIONS and DETOURS.
  • Expect delays up to 20 minutes during paving.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation in partnership with SECON Construction are working to rehabilitate existing pavement on Franklin Road from South Tongass to Roosevelt Drive. Additionally, the Roosevelt Drive Spur from Teddy Lane to Roosevelt Drive, and Roosevelt Drive from Roosevelt Spur to South Tongass are also being rehabilitated. There will be spot culvert replacement, drainage improvements, mailbox installation, and guardrail replacements on this project as well.
