A temporary, two-lane bridge will be constructed to convey traffic during the new bridge construction.
The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Tutka, LLC, is working to replace the existing Quartz Creek bridge at approximately 0.7 miles down Quartz Creek Road in Cooper Landing. The new, two-lane bridge will have increased hydraulic capacity, riprap scour protection, and improved sight distance, with widened approaches, guardrail, and other safety features. Crews will also be performing grading operations, and installing drainage, signage and striping.
