What You Need to Know
- Be alert to daily flagging operations from 6:00am to 8:00pm, with intermittent DELAYS of up to 5 minutes. From 8:00pm to 11:00pm, be alert to PILOT CAR operations, with DELAYS of up to 20 minutes. From 11:00pm to 6:00am, be alert to CLOSURES on the hour. CLOSURES will last for 45 minutes at a time, followed by 15 minute openings at the end of each hour.
- Be aware of unstable rock slope conditions between MP 239 and MP 241.5. Watch for falling rocks and debris. Please do not stop in these areas.
Traffic Impacts
Over the course of the summer, you can expect: DELAYS up to 45 minutes, temporary traffic signals, flagging and pilot car operations, and gravel surfaces.
Project End Result
The Alaska Department of Transportation, in partnership with QAP and Advanced Blasting, is working to stabilize Nenana River canyon rock slopes between MP 239 and MP 242.
