What You Need to Know
- Expect daily DELAYS of up to 20 minutes and PILOT CAR operations between MP 265 and MP 274 through approximately Wednesday, July 2, due to paving operations, from 6:00am to 6:30pm. Work will take place through the weekend.
Traffic Impacts
Over the course of the summer, you can expect DELAYS of up to 50 minutes, PILOT CAR and flagging operations, and gravel surfaces.
Project End Result
The Alaska Department of Transportation, in partnership with Great Northwest, Inc., is working to add 10 new passing lanes on the Parks Highway between Cantwell and Nenana: MP 294.1 - 296.2, MP 289.5 - 291.6, MP 213.1 - 215.1 (northbound only), MP 197 - 200.1, 272.6 - 274.7, 265.2 - 267.5 (southbound only). Work for the 2014 construction season will occur between Healy and Nenana, in 4 locations. The work in the Cantwell area will occur during the 2015 construction season. This project is scheduled for completion in September 2015.
