What You Need to Know
  • The Parks-bound lanes of the Mitchell Expressway are OPEN to traffic.
  • Please expect INTERMITTENT LANE CLOSURES during the day and night, as crews finish striping, installing guardrail, and signage.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation is working to resurface the Parks Highway and all ramps between MP 356 and 362. Work will include installing roadside hardware, ADA improvements, pavement preservation and bridge work, as well as upgrading drainage, intersections and utilities. We will do our best to keep you informed as work progresses and appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction. This project is expected to be complete in October 2019.

  • Traffic fines are double
  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
