What You Need to Know
- In observance of Independence Day, there will be no impacts to traffic beginning on Friday, June 30th at 12:00pm.
- Please be alert to flagging operations from 7:00am to 7:00pm at milepost 46.5 to 48.5.
- A NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN will be enacted from milepost 46.2 to 48.5 on the Parks Highway.
- Reduced speeds of 45 mph will be enforced, please drive with caution and obey all posted signs.
Project End Result
The Alaska Department of Transportation is working with Knik Construction to upgrade the Parks Highway. Upon completion, the Parks Highway, between MP 44.5 to 48.8, will be reconstructed from a two-lane highway to a four-lane divided highway, a new bridge will be installed at MP 46.5, continuous lighting and new signals will be installed at Church Road, Stanley Road, Vine Road and Pittman Road. This project is scheduled to be complete by August 2017.
