OLD NENANA HIGHWAY ESTER HILL REHABILITATION ROAD CONSTRUCTION through October
What You Need to Know
  • Drivers should be aware of PILOT CAR operations between Old Ridge Trail and Old Wood Road.
  • Please be alert to construction vehicles on the roadway and use extreme caution at the pit entrance for trucks exiting to the Parks Highway, near the Ester Weigh Station.
Traffic Impacts

Drivers should expect PILOT CAR and flagging operations with DELAYS up to 20 minutes. Business and local access will remain open throughout the construction project.

Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in partnership with HC Contractors, is working to rehabilitate the Old Nenana Highway. In addition, shoulders will be widened to accommodate bicycle and pedestrians, and the existing bike path from Ester Community Park to Village Road will be extended. We will do our best to keep you updated as work progresses and appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction. This project is expected to be complete in October 2018.
