OLD AIRPORT WAY RESURFACING ROAD CONSTRUCTION through October
What You Need to Know
  • Work is expected to start in July.
  • Crews will be resurfacing Old Airport Way between the Mitchell Expressway off-ramp and the intersection at Fred Meyer.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation is working to resurface Old Airport Road between the Mitchell Expressway off-ramp and the intersection at Fred Meyer. Work will include installing roadside hardware, ADA improvements, and pavement preservation as well as upgrading drainage, intersections and utilities. We will do our best to keep you informed as work progresses and appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction. This project is expected to be complete in October 2019.

Safety in all construction zones:

  • Traffic fines are double
  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
  • Watch for reduced speed limits
  • Be alert to and follow directions of flaggers

  • Allow additional time when traveling
