What You Need to Know
  • Expected to go through Thursday, April 15, crews will be performing field work on Wood Road.
  • Drivers should be aware that this road has no outlet and the construction zone will involve a two-way, one-lane road during construction.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with BAM, LLC, is working to replace a damaged culvert beneath the roadway at approximately MP 0.238 of Wood Road, near Herring Cove in Ketchikan, Alaska. Work will include replacing the existing culvert with a bottomless arch culvert, repairing the road embankment, implementing erosion and sediment control, and improving drainage associated with fish passage.
