Road Closure

Phillips Field Road is CLOSED past (east of) Fox Avenue through Pioneer Road until September. Residents and businesses can use Driveway Street or Illinois Street for local access.

What You Need to Know
  • All business and local access will be maintained throughout the construction zone. Please follow posted DETOUR signs.
Traffic Impacts

All bike and pedestrian traffic should bypass construction via Chena Landings Loop to the pedestrian bridge near Pioneer Park.

Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, in partnership with HC Contractors, is working to construct safety improvements, including shoulder widening and minor road realignment, on Phillips Field Road from Jack Lindsey Lane to Driveway Street. Work is expected to be complete by October 2018.

  • Traffic fines are double
  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
  • Watch for reduced speed limits
  • Be alert to and follow directions of flaggers
  • Drive with headlights on
  • Allow additional time when traveling
  • Watch for equipment and workers
