The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Glacier Construction Inc., is working on preventative maintenance on the Haines Highway from Fair Drive to MP 3.5, the Old Haines Highway to Mud Bay Road, and the Haines Airport Access Road. Project work will include resurfacing the roadway and associated driveways, replacing selected existing culverts, performing subbase repairs on selective roadway areas, performing associated drainage repairs, installing ADA compliant curb ramps within the project limits, replacing sidewalks at selected areas and installing new striping and traffic signs. This project is necessary for pavement rehabilitation and to reduce maintenance cost. This project is expected to be complete in August 2019.
