The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with HC Contractors, Inc., is working to upgrade approximately 4,750 feet of Gold Mine Trail. Work will include moving the intersection of Gold Mine Trail and the Steese Highway 700 feet north, eliminating 910 feet of roadway and two curves. This intersection will include a right-turn lane from the Steese Highway onto Gold Mine Trail. Construction crews will also be installing new pavement and safety improvements, including guardrail and curve realignment. We will do our best to keep you informed as work progresses and appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction. This project is expected to be complete in August 2019.
