• Expect NEW TRAFFIC PATTERNS, REDUCED SPEED LIMITS and short DELAYS from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Saturday.
• The scenic turnout that overlooks the Matanuska River at MP 49 is permanently CLOSED.

Expect two-lane road for the majority of the duration of this project, with intermittent LANE CLOSURES while integrating the new roadway into the existing road on both ends.

The Alaska Department of Transportation is working with Granite Construction to realign the Glenn Highway at MP 49. Upon completion, the highway will be realigned away from the eroding bluff, with new guardrail and a new light post at the Palmer-Fishhook Road, Glenn Highway intersection. This project is scheduled to be complete by November 2016.
