Road Closure
Through Friday, September 7, 27th Avenue will be CLOSED to through traffic. Please follow posted DETOUR signs.
What You Need to Know
- Construction crews are striping overnight at the following locations: 10th Avenue (Lathrop Street to Kellum Street, and Cushman Street to Steese Highway) and W Cowles Street. Please follow posted DETOUR signs. Drivers should expect DELAYS and possible CLOSURES.
- Through Friday, September 7, drivers should expect grinding and paving operations on 27th Avenue. Flaggers will be present to assist local traffic.
- Expected to begin Wednesday, September 5, construction crews will be working on the Boat Street bike path.
Traffic Impacts
Vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction zone. Please follow posted signage and be aware of flagging operations.
Project End Result
The Alaska Department of Transportation is working to resurface roads and replace curb ramps at multiple locations throughout the FMATS boundary, in both Fairbanks and North Pole. We will do our best to keep you informed as work progresses and appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction. This project is expected to be complete in mid-September 2018.
