What You Need to Know
- The College Road and Steese Highway intersection is now open, with two dedicated right turn lanes for eastbound College Road traffic turning onto the Steese Highway.
- U-turns for northbound Steese Highway traffic are now prohibited at all times. Be very alert to NEW TRAFFIC PATTERNS and new signals at this intersection, including yellow flashing arrows.
- Be alert to construction work, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 5:30pm. In addition, be alert to occasional night work, with DETOURS and LANE CLOSURES.
Traffic Impacts
Over the course of the season, be alert to a LANE CLOSURE in both directions on College Road between the Steese Expressway and Old Steese Highway. In addition, there will be night work on the Steese Expressway and Old Steese Highway as needed, with SINGLE-LANE TRAFFIC.
Project End Result
The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Paving Products, is working to install two new right hand turn pockets on College Road, between the Steese Expressway and the Old Steese Highway. This project is expected to be complete in September 2016.
