  • This project is in winter shutdown. Work is expected to resume in Spring 2023.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Exclusive Paving, is working to reconstruct the roadway between Old Steese Highway and Nordale Road. This will include new roundabouts at the Steese Highway underpass along Chena Hot Springs Road, and a bypass lane that will be installed on the Steese Highway off-ramp towards Nordale Road. This lane will allow traffic to bypass the roundabouts for those headed eastbound. Work will also include repairing roadside hardware, drainage improvements, lighting improvements, and upgrading pedestrian pathways. These projects are expected to be complete in October 2022.

  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
