What You Need to Know
  • Through the end of August, crews will be working intermittently on Abbott Road.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in partnership with QAP, is working to reconstruct Abbott Road from Elmore Road to Birch Road. Project work includes making sight distance improvements between Jupiter Drive and Sahalee Drive, adding a two-way left turn lane, and adding turn lanes at Birch Road.

Safety in all construction zones:

  • Traffic fines are double
  • Watch for changing driving surfaces
  • Watch for reduced speed limits
  • Be alert to and follow directions of flaggers

  • Allow additional time when traveling
  • Watch for equipment and workers
