What You Need to Know
  • Crews will be working during the day and at night on the shoulders of Airport Way and the Johansen Expressway to update the roadway lighting system.
  • Drivers should expect LANE CLOSURES.
  • Please watch for equipment accessing the light fixtures, especially at night.
Project End Result

The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with B & B Electric, Inc., is working to update the lighting on Airport Way and the Johansen Expressway. Upon completion of the work, drivers will notice improved lighting along these routes. The State will also realize a sizable cost savings due to reduced energy usage.
