- Drivers should expect a nightly intermittent LANE CLOSURE along the Seward Highway between MP 42 and 44. Expect DELAYS, PILOT CAR and flagging operations, and double traffic fines.
- Be alert to construction trucks entering and exiting the highway within the project area.
- Drivers should use caution on the gravel road and along the narrow DETOUR ROUTES.
- The speed limit through the project zone is 45 MPH, with a reduced speed limit of 35 MPH on the gravel road.
The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with QAP, is working to construct passing lanes and resurface the Seward Highway between MP 36 and 52. Work includes clearing and grubbing, drainage, excavation, embankment, slope stabilization, guardrail, paving, signing, and striping. The majority of project work is expected to be completed during the 2020 and 2021 construction seasons.
