- In observance of the Memorial Holiday weekend, no road work is expected from Friday, May 25, through Monday, May 28.
- Through Thursday, May 24, survey crews, BMP installation crews and utility relocation crews will be working from MP 75 to 90 of the Seward Highway (Ingram Creek to Girdwood).
- Drivers should expect reduced speeds and flagged ONE-LANE traffic, Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm.
- The project will transition to night shift work after Memorial Day.
Drivers should be aware of equipment and crews working along the shoulders. Construction is expected to continue through November.
The Alaska Department of Transportation, in partnership with Granite Construction, is working to improve road conditions on the Seward Highway from MP 75 to 90. Upgrades will include road resurfacing, road realignment, passing lanes, drainage improvements, shore protection improvements, and pedestrian facilities. This project will also include new bridges at Glacier, Virgin and Peterson Creeks, and the rehabilitation of the Ingram Creek bridge.
