What You Need to Know
FUTURE ROAD CLOSURE: Beginning the week of May 1, be alert to a ROAD CLOSURE north of the Johns Road and Klatt Road intersection, on Johns Road. Please plan to follow construction signs for a DETOUR route (Dave Lane will be used as an alternate route).
Beginning approximately Tuesday, May 30, an extended ROAD CLOSURE at the Johns Road and Klatt Road intersection will go into effect until approximately Thursday, June 22. Please plan to use alternate routes and follow construction signs for DETOUR routes.
- Beginning the week of April 24, work on this project will resume. Traffic will be shifted to the north on Klatt Road, with Klatt Road and Johns Road remaining open to traffic. Be alert to flagging operations near the intersection of Klatt Road and Johns Road.
- Beginning the week of May 1, work will continue on the south side of Klatt Road and a ROAD CLOSURE
Project End Result
The Alaska Department of Transportation is working with QAP to construct a single-lane roundabout at the Klatt Road and Johns Road intersection. Upon completion, this project will improve the sight distance on Klatt Road east of Johns Road and improve the drainage and pedestrian facilities in the area. This project is scheduled to be complete by June 2017.
