On Friday, July 19, from 6:00pm to 1:00am, Dock Street will be CLOSED between Main Street and Front Street.

 

From Monday, July 22 to Friday July 26, nightly from 3:00pm to 6:00am, Dock Street will be CLOSED between Main Street and Front Street.

 

On Friday, July 19, drivers should expect a northbound DETOUR on Stedman Street from 6:00pm to 1:00am. Northbound traffic will be DETOURED from Stedman Street to Grant Street. Southbound traffic will remain on Mill Street but a NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN will be in place.

On Monday, July 22, drivers should be aware of a northbound DETOUR on Stedman Street from 3:00pm to 1:00am. Northbound traffic will be DETOURED up Deermount Street at Tatsudas, then follow Park Avenue to Bawden Street. Southbound traffic will remain on Stedman Street but a NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN will be in place.

From Tuesday, July 23 to Saturday, July 27, drivers should be aware of northbound and southbound DETOURS on Stedman Street and Front Street from 3:00pm to 6:00am, nightly. Northbound traffic will be DETOURED to Deermount Street at Tatsudas, then follow Park Avenue to Bawden Street, then on to Grant Street. Southbound traffic will be DETOURED from Front Street to Mission Street to Bawden Street, then Park Avenue to Deermount Street.

    What You Need to Know
    • Beginning the week of July 22, crews will be paving Front Street and Mill Street, from Grant Street to Stedman Street Bridge, from 3:00pm to 6:00am, nightly.
    • Until further notice, the following bus stops will be CLOSED: the Federal Building bus stop, the southbound bus stop on Front Street and the northbound bus stop on Front Street at the Totem Bar.
    • Drivers should be aware of NEW TRAFFIC PATTERNS and flagging operations, as well as changes to pedestrian traffic, parking and local access. Please follow all posted signs for DETOURS and NEW TRAFFIC PATTERNS.
    • All sidewalks are open and all businesses have access to their establishments, and are open regular hours during construction.

    Project End Result

    The Alaska Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Secon Inc., is working to reconstruct Front Street, Mill Street and Stedman Streets in Downtown Ketchikan. Beginning at the intersection with Grant Street (Water Street Tunnel) to west of Stedman and Deermount Street's intersection. Work will include the demolition and reconstruction of pedestrian facilities and sidewalks, bridge deck repairs, bridge substructure repairs, removal of buried dock pilings and caps from the roadbed, storm drain improvements, pavement rehabilitation, as well as signing and striping.
